Does anyone notice that nursing symptoms worsens them in the long term?

For the last 5 years or so, I’ve spent most of my time indoors due to some anxiety and then BVD symptoms. Slowly but surely I got more light sensitive, made my house darker and darker, went outside less and less. It almost seems like these things made me so much worse in the long term. The more I seem to baby my symptoms, the worse my eyes feel presumably because they get less used to light and the muscles atrophy. Has anyone else come to this conclusion? I remember a past vision therapist of mine also once said that I needed to start slowly taking off all the crutches I use like hats, being in the dark etc. What do you think of this? I went to my vision appointment during the day yesterday with a migraine and oddly enough, when I got home I didn’t feel worse. I actually felt better even though my eyes definitely put in some work being out in the sun and doing eye tests. So strange and interesting. Thinking that maybe I should try and actually use my eyes more outside and out in the world. It’s just difficult when the symptoms can get so uncomfortable.
