Anyone ever stay in the running springs area?!?

It’s our first year booking an Airbnb in the mountains and weather has us a little nervous! Is it usually snowing or is it melted by then? We’re prepared to use chains but the closest road up to the running springs has been closing due to snow recently so I’m wondering how it’s been for everyone else?! Thank you in advance 🙏
