Upcoming Bike and Pedestrian Safety Projects

Bellingham TV is broadcasting a presentation on bike and pedestrian safety ideas, right now. I am not going to share my thoughts on it until after I have more information but it looks like the city is putting some thought into it and inviting community feedback.

This is not live, as I doubt public works would be working at a quarter to midnight. It may repeat in the near future, if anyone is interested.

This is an opportunity to learn more about upcoming projects and give feedback before we have another Holly Street situation.

Anyone who drives, rides, or walks in Bellingham will be impacted by the changes.

Edit: The program ended and showed a date on the screen: February 16, 2023. Alas! Looks like the community feedback period ended quite some time ago and the projects are moving forward. Well, this is a good reminder that we all live in this beautiful city and can be more active in shaping its future. Yes, this is a reminder for me, too.

I looked at cob.gov and found the link to the same presentation on YouTube, if you’re interested.
