Teaching beginners

Hey all. I’m an experienced club DJ who no longer plays for money but I am facilitating some free workshops at a community festival for teens to learn some DJing basics. What were some of the most important things you learned right at the beginning of your dj journey, or, what do you wish you knew right at the start?
