Is this set up appropriate?

My moms had this big boy for about a year now, no idea how old he is but he’s pretty chunky and living his best life but his cage just seems sad, I set up a backdrop for him to maybe make it feel like bland for him but other then that what can I do? He loves his heat lights and loves to splash his water everywhere he can possibly splash it and he poops in one corner every time
