Xero Prios appreciation post
Let me first just say, I am not affiliated with this company; I am just a customer. I have been wearing Xero shoes for about five years now. I have mostly worn the Prios and have tried the speed force shoes. I have recently begun to take running more seriously and have been putting in some significant distances in my Prios. This past weekend, I ran my first official half marathon race in my Prios with a time of 1:24:06 (PB); I came in 24th overall in a big race with hundreds of people. Observing other runners at the race, it seems minimalist shoes are very uncommon. I didn’t see a pair of shoes like mine at the event. Lots of regular trainers and at the front of the starting line, all high stack, high price, low lifetime super shoes. I trained well, ran a great race, and my feet feel great! My legs are naturally fatigued, but I feel ready to ease back into my marathon training. I have not tried any other minimalist shoes, but I can tell you Xeros work for me and I appreciate this company for producing a quality product at a reasonable price. I will also say they have outstanding customer service. I once had a delayed order and was sent a free pair for the inconvenience. I will continue to train in my Prios and will run a marathon in them, and maybe go sub 3:00. I have my body to thank for this ability, but I appreciate having found a shoe that works so well for me!
