Should I get baldurs gate 3?

Hello, hi, how are you. I have no knowledge of baldurs gate 3, literally nothing. so I'm pretty curious if I should really get it, the only thing I've been sold on is apparently you get to customise your character (that's what my friend mentioned) i don't know if it's true but is it worth buying because I'm pretty curious about it because it's getting popular in my friend group.
