What companions do you always bring with you?

It depended on my playthrough personally! I realized I had Shart as a main literally every single one though.

Ranger: Astarion, Gale, Shart. OG crew

Sorcerer: Astarion, Karlach and Shart. I had magic covered in this one so Gale was a bit redundant. Also Laezel was dead (would not recommend)

Paladin: Laezel, Gale and Shart. This one is tactician and I need to slap enemies as hard as possible. Fighter is OP
