Are borderlines fully aware of a breakup that they have decided?

After 14 years she decided to separate from me because she no longer has romantic feelings, I was there during all the dark moments (suicide attempt, self-mutilation, and empty period). Should I expect to see her come back to me because I respect her decision and I wouldn't know how to react.
