Buying a Used 2022 BMW X5 – CPO vs. Non-CPO? Need Advice on Warranty & Inspections!
Hey everyone,
I’m looking to buy a used 2022 BMW X5 and debating between CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) from BMW vs. non-CPO from other dealerships (e.g., Benz, Mitsubishi).
CPO ($49K-$51K)
✔ 1-year factory warranty left (+1-year unlimited mileage CPO warranty)
✔ Option to buy BMW’s Platinum Protection Plan
✔ Likely better maintenance history
Non-CPO ($43K-$44K)
✔ Cheaper, but no CPO benefits
❌ Warranty? Only remaining factory coverage
❌ Riskier—unknown maintenance history
Concerns:
1. Trusting non-CPO cars – How do I verify reliability?
2. PPIs – How do I avoid paying $1,000+ for multiple inspections?
3. Extended Warranty – Can I get BMW’s or rely on third-party? Any good options?
4. Hidden issues? – Common problems to check (brakes, suspension, etc.)?
Any advice from those who’ve bought a used X5? Appreciate the help!
