thoughts on songcord materials?

(pretty picture tax) i would really like to make my own songcord, but my skill lies more in drawing/digital art than it does in making physical crafts. any ideas on where i should start for some sort of thread/string(?) and beads for a cord? especially more “unique” beads like fangs, plant shapes, etc. :]
