American friend visiting with expunged conviction

I have a friend wanting to visit Australia. However, she had a felony conviction in 2006 when she was caught up with drugs. It's since been expunged and she's completely different and clean now with a house, husband, and a long time stable job. She can't figure out if she needs to declare an expunged crime from so many years ago and asking around has given her very conflicting answers. She's worried if she does the wrong thing, she'll be refused entry when she gets here.

If it's expunged, does that mean it won't show on records and won't be an issue?
