Shoutout to Dyson Daniels man…

I know OO is gonna get most of the plaudits, and rightfully so, he had some insanely massive plays in OT that basically won us the game.

But man am I happy with how Dyson played tonight. Yes the turnovers early on were rough but giving us 23 4 and 4 and only missing 3 shots is more than what we could ask for.

I was a huge fan of his shot selection tonight. He didn’t force anything, but when he saw an opportunity to go he did. That floater is probably his best offensive asset at the moment and I love how he used it all night. It’s so much better then watching him try to force up 3s (like a certain team we vsed) but it was also good to see one of his 3s fall too, it shows he’s capable of hitting the outside shot.

And on the defensive end…idk about youse but it makes me so much more confident in our ability to win a close game when he’s on the floor. Wasn’t the high steals typa game for him but his ability to disrupt Tatum all night, especially on the last few possessions was so good to watch. Last year in those clutch possessions, whoever Tatum was on he would’ve either got to the rim or created enough separation for a wide enough jumper, like brown did on Jalen (sorry JJ). Go back and watch his contest on tatums OT tying 3 attempt. The way he heavily contests and slides out the way to not foul was unreal.

Look, there’s probably gonna be more games were he might go 2-8 or have 3-4 turnovers, but he’s 21 getting his first full season. I’d say he’s nearly a rookie for me. We just have to trust the process.

This kids gonna be alright. Now it’s time for Landry to build the right pieces around him, Trae, Jalen and Co.
