What am i doing wrong

Have these and the hdmi box thing can include pics in comments. Hdmi cord ran from ps5 to hdmi adapter input and hdmi cord ran from that adapters output To tv input hdmi one. Tv keeps insisting we switch audio device to hdmi arc. We do that and then theres no display. How do i mix sound on it? Why does it keep telling me to go to hdmi arc when i cant see if i do that.
