Why do men like to ask women for selfies?

I'm just trying to understand why men like to ask woman for photos. When we have plenty on various social media platforms. The other day I had a guy in interested in ask for my "cutest mirror pic". And I'm like... my cutest mirror picture is posted. I'm not harboring cute pictures to DM to the masses when they ask. I just don't get the point. He's also seen me in person before so he knows what I look like. Can any of you all help me understand the thought behind this question.
