[IL] Considering Asking for a Formal Investigation.
Not main account for obvious reasons.
I am a sr level people leader.
My direct report has been aggressive toward me, has been bullying me, and I’ve been a victim of discrimination and indirect sexual harassment.
I’ve documented these dates and instances. They’re clear acts of harassment.
Their spouse also works at the company AND is my managers best friend.
Additionally, my report is close with our c suite; having routinely gone above me to this individual to try and defame my character and get things like review outcomes overturned.
Do I open an investigation?
I’m fearful of my manager and/or c suite managing me out but then again I don’t feel comfortable or safe here anyway. I’ve gone through intense bouts of stress and anxiety over this while also taking on unreasonable workloads due to this report being treated favorably by the c suite and my manager (their skip level manager) due to the personal relationships - therefore not doing their job and leaving me to do it.
It’s to the point where I feel they’ve made it impossible for me to succeed and I want out with a settlement and MTA to move on and get back to a healthy state of existence.
Need advice on how to approach this and if I need a lawyer + where to find one.
Thanks in advance.
