Recommendations of batting cages for beginners on the north side?

I'm thinking about playing softball this summer through maybe Chicago Sports and Social or something. I would be signing up as a single female (mid 30s). I'm looking to make some friends, lose weight, and get out of the house more as I'm a hermit. I'd like to hit the batting cages a bit to see if I can hit a ball since it's been 20 years since I've played. I'm looking for a place like when we were kids and we would stick 4 quarters in the machine and it would pitch you 20 balls or whatever. I'm in Ravenswood but am willing to drive. The places I found by googling seem to be geared toward more experienced individuals. Any suggestions are appreciated.
