Australians young & old, just wondering ... are you hopeful about the future? What significant events do you think will shape the next 10-20 years of the nation and how will this affect you personally ?
Australians young & old, just wondering ... are you hopeful about the future? What significant events, both local and global, do you think will shape the next 10-20 years of the nation and how will this affect you personally ?
Look, personally, I don't know. No one knows the future of course - but I feel like everyone is getting squeezed more and more with less and less to look forward to. Currently this generation is unique in that a 30-year old today has it worse off than their parents. On every metric. Housing affordability, debt/income ratios, quality of life, cost of living, etc.
This is a pretty airy-fairy question I know, but in my life I'm just getting by at the moment. One's ambitions in life are generally tempered by what one has available to them, and I feel like I don't know what I'm working towards or what to look forward to. I don't want for much, but maybe perspective is the issue here. I think people are in for some very tough times in the future.
I do believe there will be a large scale conflict in the Asia Pacific region within the next 10-15 years. I also think a recession is due in the next 2-3 years.
What are your views? Why does everything feel like shit lately and where is this sense of utter dread coming from ?
