What Would be Your Ideal Life in Russia?

If money were not a deciding factor? Not like Abramovich $billions, but where you have enough money to live a reasonable lifestyle of your personal choice without having to worry about employment.

For example, would you live in a big city like Moscow/St. Petersburg? A regional capitol? A resort town? A smaller city/town where you/your family are from?

Would you rather have a sprawling house, or nice, well-appointed but efficient apartment? 2-3 cheaper residences in different parts of the country, so you have a choice?

Would you continue to work, if you didn't need to? How would you spend your free time? Sport? Charity work? Start a new business for fun? Investing?

Context: I'm an American, curious how Russians think about these things and to what extent our cultures/values overlap. Americans tend to make such plans (and implement them, if they have the money). I have never been to Russia but I speak some Russian, and am thinking about visiting Russia once things have calmed down a bit internationally, possibly with an eye to spending some time there in the future. More specifically, I am curious whether:

1) Russians are attracted to or avoid their major metropolises, given the choice. Most Americans with money prefer to avoid New York/Los Angeles (our analogues to Moscow/St. Petersburg), even though they can afford to live there. Americans who want a city tend to prefer ones like Phoenix, Seattle, or Miami, because they offer metropolitan amenities without the craziness of NY/LA.

2) Whether vacation/investment properties in resort locations are much of a thing in Russia. In the US, it is very common choice to live either full or part-time at the beach (Hawaii, Florida, USVI) or a ski resort in the mountains (Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho). Sometimes these places will be monetized via VRBO when not in use. Is this commonly done in Russia?

3) Do Russians like the thought of a large house (400-1,000 square meters, or larger), or does that stress them out, like it does Europeans? Americans stereotypically love large houses, and this stereotype is accurate.

4) I know American-style suburbs aren't really a thing in Russia, but I'm curious whether Russians like the idea. McMansions in the suburbs might be the most "American" thing there is.

5) Whether Russians would enjoy splitting their time between several houses in several locations, or whether they would remain in one place. American families are very spread out, so Americans that can tend to split their time and have houses in multiple places if they can afford to.

6) To what extent Russians would like to spend some or all of their time as expats in a foreign country. Americans are *strongly* divided about this: they either avoid foreign countries like the plague and would never buy real estate there, or else they fall in love and spend much of their time abroad. Latin America and the Caribbean are most common, but Canada, Asia, and of course Europe are popular also.
