All this anti-Ødegaard rhetoric is strange to me

Look, I know he's been very far from his best this season and at times looks like he's nowhere to be found. But when I hear people say we should sell him, I just start to cringe. I think of his poor form this way: the guy had to come back from a major injury he picked up on international duty, and the prevailing narrative was that we missed him. When he eventually returned, it definitely looked like he could never quite get back up to speed, and eventually people are calling for his head. But I remind these people that as much as he's been poor this season, if we really did choose to sell him in the summer (which I think would be really unfair), the creative spark in midfield would be dead entirely. And here's the other thing: how can you expect the guy to deliver 10/10 performances every week when he has practically nobody to supply key passes to up front? Of course his form would be compromised when we've got a 17 year old basically carrying the entire front three and a defensive midfielder as a makeshift number 9. You people asking for Ødegaard to be sold are ungrateful.
