The problem with college influencers

Unless they are an admissions officer or Gohar Khan, you should ignore everything these college influencers say.

And especially avoid people like LimmyTalks and Elise Pham because they have 0 qualifications and post shit that is unrealistic and will only demotivate you.

LimmyTalks posts unrealistic and made up profiles and says “oh they only got into their safety school” to demotivate and make people feel like they’re “cooked” for not getting an NASA internship, 4.0 GPA, 1600 SAT and having 5 successful startups.

Elise Pham just straight up lies sometimes. She is STILL in premed and yet is ranked a top college counselor by Forbes??? Where are her “qualifications”? She also lied about someone with a 3.0 GPA with no extra curricular or test scores getting into Stanford by “having good essays”. She also brags about how she’s so productive by waking up at 5 AM, working for 16 hours a day etc.

She also takes a gap semester to “educate the next generation” yet apparently her services are $8000 dollars????

Overall, the only advice you should EVER be taking from is admissionsmom and ScholarGrade and Gohar Khans. And some other admission counselors on this sub. Because at least they won’t scam you and won’t lie to you.

Peace out fellas!

edit: I’m glad this post has invited people to cite actual helpful resources and people that won’t just take your money and BS you.
