Should I email Columbia??

So recently I wasn’t able to get a spot in one of my dual enrollment classes that I put in my planned courses section for Columbia’s application. My counselor said she would include a note in her mid year report about this, but I’m not sure if I should email on my own too. To be honest, I don’t really want to draw more attention to this as it was a challenging course and might seem like I am wimping out. Would it be okay to just let my counselor write a note?

Also does admissions/the school really care that much about what current classes you’re taking?
