I made a Leafeon for my partner

I started crocheting in November last year and it's crazy how much I progressed, I'm actually really proud. But what I struggle with is sewing the pieces together, they always end up kinda crooked and not where I placed them in the beginning. Any tips? (Pattern is by PebblesCrochetShop23 on Etsy)
