WIBTA if I went to my friends' wedding?

I've been considering whether I should go to my friends' wedding for the past few months. They invited me a little while ago, but my parents are coming to visit during that week. I knew that they would be offended if I went to the wedding, but I had to consider also my duty to my friends so that I ended up telling them I would come. Now, the plan involves my being away from my family for roughly half the time that they will be here (the wedding is in a far-away place), and today my dad accused me of being incapable of empathy and heartless and told me that he feels worthless in my eyes because I intend to go to the wedding. A compromise option is my waking up early to spend another night with them. I don't know how to balance my commitment to my family and to my friends. WIBTA if I went to the wedding?
