Considering Buying Acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop

One of my friends who is supposedly very knowledgeable about computers linked me a laptop that they said would be very good as a budget gaming computer. I know next to nothing about computers and what makes them good so I just thought I'd ask here. I will list the specs below.

Intel Core i5-13420H Processor

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU

8GB DDR5, 512GB Gen 4 SSD

I'm not sure what other specs might be important. My current computer is ancient with a GTX 970 and equally as bad CPU. The price for the laptop I'm considering getting is around $650. Is this a good laptop for it's price? I imagine anything is a massive upgrade from what I have now but I just want a general understanding. Thanks!
