Reinstate cpa in VA after voluntary surrender

I voluntarily surrendered my CPA last year because I didn't need to be a CPA for my job (still in business industry) and didn't have time to complete the CPE at the end of the year. I'm realizing that was a mistake, but here we are.

I now want to reinstate it. Is this going to be difficult? I'll get the CPEs that's not a problem. Are they going to drill me on why I gave it up if I was still working in a business related field? Other than getting all my CPEs, should I expect any other fees besides a $350 reinstatement fee?

I also live in NC now. I really want to get my CPA active and transfered to NC. I'm assuming I have to get reinstated in VA first, then apply for NC CPA? Or can I go straight to NC?

Thanks for your help.
