Trey Hendrickson opinion revised

Took a lot of heat for my previous Hendrickson post so I wanted to clear things up. I would love Hendrickson on this team. I’m not worried at all about the draft compensation or the player himself. It’s only the extension that worries me. If it’s a long term deal for Crosby-like money, I feel like it will come back to haunt us when he’s 35 and inevitably declining but still getting paid that type of money.

What I would be on board with is a trade and extension for 2-3 year that is front loaded, ensuring we pay him big bucks for big time production but can be off the hook when he’s aging. I’m with that 100%. There’s always a way to make it work
