My brother is not actively trying to work

My brother entered the hospital 2 months ago with ascites and jaundice. I noticed it when I saw him back in October, he looked terrible I was insistent about him seeing a doctor. He finally went to hospital December 5 last year. He was admitted with cirrhosis of the liver at 35. On discharge he was recommended to outpatient treatment for alcohol etc. He gave his condo keys to a friend and that opened up a lot about what had been going on.

The place was a absolute mess. Full of empty alcohol and old food from delivery. I went down and helped clean this up over a period of weeks. He went to treatment for 45 days. He decided he didn't want to return to his place so we set it up to Airbnb, all while he was in treatment. He has since moved in with our family of 4. He has his own room we fixed up for him. TV, extra chair etc.

He has now been sober 60 days. He has been with us now 2 weeks since he left treatment. He is a partner in a medical business that hasn't been doing great, but it's where he worked prior to going to treatment. He texted them once when he went to treatment and that's it. He still has not spoken to them about returning to work.

Many of his life problems stem from not dealing with things directly or in a timely manner. His plates are a good example, driving a 3 yr old car with the original temp plate from 2021. I helped him get plates and our dad paid for it.

I bring up talking to business partners and he gets defensive. He said he was going to talk to them today but hasn't. He still has insurance but I'm not sure for how long. I am happy he has focused on sobriety but the world is still moving around him.

AITAH for asking questions about his job or plans for work?
