Posting on behalf of a friend— AITAH for blocking my friend when he called me the b-word?
For context, me and my friend (Jacob), met online. We live in different countries and have bonded over shared interests. Recently, I got a new laptop and started gaming with Jacob and a few other friends. Jacob is usually online playing games and has helped me ease into trying out different games. We usually curse each other and say profanities, as a joke, while playing or texting. Mind you, this is all normal for us even though we haven't known each other for long.
A few weeks ago, I wasn't exactly in the best mood and was scrolling through instagram reels. I was checking my dms for any important texts and saw that he sent me a couple of reels. I checked his dms and wasn't feeling like watching the reels or replying so I told him that I wouldn't watch the reels now and would reply later. He started pushing me to watch them even after I said multiple times that I don't want to so i got irritated and told him to F off. He said some things, such as I am not all that much and should shut up and watch the reels, and after that we weren't really talking, just occasionally replying on a shared group chat in instagram.
2 days after this incident, me and another friend of mine(let's call him eden) got into a squabble at school because he called me the b-word. After coming home, we sorted it out in the same group chat where he apologized. I forgave him and made it up, but then Jacob texted that Eden wasn't wrong calling me the b-word. So, I calmly asked him, in the groupchat, that whether or not this was his way of being funny. He said no. I asked him again if he was joking, he said no.
After that,I left the group chat and blocked him on all social media platforms. All this happened in a span of a few days and I feel like I made the right choice by protecting my self-respect but I can't help but think if my decision was too rash. Looking for honest opinions.
