Is the writing (no pun intended) on the wall?
As a technology person, I look at the market for manual audiobook narrators and can't help but wonder if it's shrinking and will soon get rendered obsolete because of AI.
I wonder if any of you feel similarly?
I mention this because I was just looking at the latest in AI voice cloning and, wow, I don't think most people could tell the difference between the real voice and the cloned voice.
We look to be moving toward a world where you record once and then license your voice to people who want to leverage it using AI.
Am I missing something here? For authors who want their work narrated, why would they NOT use AI when it's getting to the point where it's indistinguishable from an AI-generated clone, accent, intonation, and all?
