Which is a better way to get Essence?

So I'm hunting harmonious essence for all those new years figures, but I'm torn on which is a better method to grind harmonious campers. Should I fill up my campsite with them and hope they have interactions with me each day, or fill my campsite up with any other interest to increase the odds that they're found around the map and can have requests for fish and such?
