First day of sports post ACL injury resulted in an ankle sprain- What to do

Hi everyone. A very happy new year! Soo I had grade 1 ACL earlier last year (no surgery) and was declared by an ortho to play. I wanted to take it lightly so I went in there but after running for a while, my ankle started to hurt and it resulted in a high ankle sprain (of the same leg). Is it because of the lack of movement for my ankle? What do I need to be careful for the next time?

Also, if anyone has gone through High Ankle Sprain, how can I fasten my recovery process? XD
