What are some things about American and Western culture that you find to be weird or, dare I say, "backward"?

It is not uncommon for Americans to find many aspects of Desi culture to be "weird" or "backward", and in some cases I can see where they are coming from with that (although in many cases those comments are not in good faith). But what about the reverse? As a Desi, even if you are an ABD, what are some (white) American cultural aspects that baffle you, and which you find "backward"?
