Were 70s more fun to be a teenager?
I'm 23. Yes, I'm one of those who wish they were born earlier haha. Whenever I look at 70s pop culture—whether it's the movies, music, magazines, lifestyle, or fashion—young people seemed to have so much more fun compared to today's Gen Z. Free love was popular, people lived in the moment and didn’t care about consequences. I think it was easier to find a girlfriend since people still hung out within communities, whereas today, you swipe through hundreds of potential matches on dating apps and get rejected—or more often, ghosted—if you don’t have the perfect physical look or personality. In my opinion, women looked so much sexier due to individuality, more natural look, less stress, more carefree, kept some mystery about themselves, not plopping their whole body out for everyone to see. Speaking sounded more intelligent without constant use of like, omg, bro... listen to lyrics of any modern song and compare it with lyrics of Pink Floyd, Beatles, Queen... you'll see what I mean.
People still cared how they dressed and presented themselves in public. The world was out there. Today, we live within our own four walls.
Do you think we’ll ever have another decade like the 70s? Can you share some of your own experiences?
