Anycubic Kobra S1 ($399) vs Bambu Lab P1S ($589)

I’ve been looking to upgrade from my Ender 3 v2 for a while and was planning on ordering a P1S. But them I saw the Kobra S1 and it seems very attractive, especially for the price.

What they both have:

  • CoreXY
  • Direct drive
  • Max 500–600 m/s and 20,000 m/s² (claimed)
  • Auto bed leveling
  • Vibration compensation
  • Full enclosure
  • 250-ish mm³ build volume

Kobra S1:

Pro:

Con:

  • Brand new and unproven
  • Anycubic is not know for making the highest quality products

P1S:

Pro:

  • Basically plug and play
  • Good build quality and QC

Con:

  • More expensive ($589 with code)
  • Recent Bambu Lab drama

My priorities are speed and quality for functional prints. Coming from an Ender 3, I’m not opposed to doing some manual tuning. Should I go for the Kobra S1?

Side question: I have never felt a need to use multiple filaments in one print. Would I regret not going for the combo if I rarely print decorative items?

Thank you.
