Anycubic Kobra S1 ($399) vs Bambu Lab P1S ($589)
I’ve been looking to upgrade from my Ender 3 v2 for a while and was planning on ordering a P1S. But them I saw the Kobra S1 and it seems very attractive, especially for the price.
What they both have:
- CoreXY
- Direct drive
- Max 500–600 m/s and 20,000 m/s² (claimed)
- Auto bed leveling
- Vibration compensation
- Full enclosure
- 250-ish mm³ build volume
Kobra S1:
Pro:
- Cheaper ($399 with code FIRST30)
- Good compatibility with third-party slicers (according to this review: https://www.3dheaven.de/kobra-s1-combo-test)
Con:
- Brand new and unproven
- Anycubic is not know for making the highest quality products
P1S:
Pro:
- Basically plug and play
- Good build quality and QC
Con:
- More expensive ($589 with code)
- Recent Bambu Lab drama
My priorities are speed and quality for functional prints. Coming from an Ender 3, I’m not opposed to doing some manual tuning. Should I go for the Kobra S1?
Side question: I have never felt a need to use multiple filaments in one print. Would I regret not going for the combo if I rarely print decorative items?
Thank you.
