Recently completed my Grandmasters, here are my top 5 least favorite CA's

Before you flame me, or tell me to 'git good', these are just my personal opinions and I just wanted to share them. All of these are very do-able and have been completed by many; they're just not very enjoyable.

  1. Sub 1:25 Duke: The worst task in my opinion. Having to do a set up kill every single attempt after resetting, spam clicking 42 mushrooms and having such a high dependence on RNG is absolutely vile. No one should have to deal with this task in its current state. Simple solution - start the room timer when the first mushroom is picked.

  2. Sub 4:00 Gauntlet: Reset till first room has a monster spawn, reset till you kill monsters quick enough, reset till you get weapon frame and shards under 1 minute, reset if you don't find the correct Demi, reset if you don't find fish or herb, and reset if your hits noodle at Hunllef, or if you take too much damage. Dog water task.

  3. Reinforcements: Most Colo attempts for this task are a result from not getting the correct invocations. Reaching wave 11 only to dodge Solar flare or to never see Quartet is rough. The sol fight was quite the challenge, though I enjoyed it. Would be cool if there was more consistency in what Invo's you see in a Colo run.

  4. 8-man ToA GM time: There's a group of individuals (boosters) who have started a business of offering to run people through 8-man ToA, because its just that difficult to find 8 people with max gear and the skill to run one of these. Special thanks to Molgoatkirby and CA disc for helping out

  5. Perfect Olm Trio: Honestly not too bad of a task, just a really poorly-designed CA that punishes players for playing in a team. Poison walk and healing pools are almost guaranteed to fail the task. You'd have a much easier time completing this one in a 1+2 Solo Olm, which completely defeats the purpose of team tasks.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Vorkath GM time: Insane amount of RNG required to hit this time, an incredibly boring task.

  • Muspah GM time: Smite skip is a big hit or miss for many people, making this another huge RNG check

  • Perfect Xarpus: Famously known as 'the brick wall of Perf ToB' due to exhumed spawns. Corner spawns are almost always run enders. Perhaps change it to spawning exhumed 5-8 tiles away from each player in orb order?

  • Peach Conjurer - 50 Kill task (2.5 hours) without break is a huge ask from any player, should be capped out at 30, as should every other GWD boss.

  • Any task with requires camping a Nat Ruby proc to hit speed time. Resetting kills is some of the worst content that exists (I'm looking at you Vardorvis)

Anyway, this wasn't meant to be a rant - just wanted to share some of my personal experiences, thoughts and opinion. Overall, grinding GMs has been an incredibly fun journey and some of the most fun I've had in this game. There are some CA's I absolutely had a blast doing - namely: Three Times the Thrashing, Wasn't a Fluke, Unconventional, Can't Wake Up, Awakened Bosses, ToB GM Times and many more.

Hoping for a discussion, which could hopefully bring about some positive change for future CA grinders! Would love to hear what you all think, and what your least favorite tasks were :)

Special thanks to gamers like MolGoatKirby, Catherbae, Hemmiez, Mars, JoeWatermelon, Nick Ints, red eye jedi, JRaZe and others who make videos and guides of CA completions, providing great resources to everyone. Highly recommend you watch their videos and give em all the support they deserve
